So we are.
Myself and my business partner love to ride bikes, period. Peter is the current Scottish time trial champion, cycling coach and has raced internationally throughout his career and currently races at an elite level in the UK and Spain.
I am a qualified strength coach currently training for the Masters National track championships and also race in the UK and Spain. Together, we also run races in the UK and are currently involved in various cyclocross races.
With our experience in mind, we both decided to use our combined knowledge and passion to create a new cycling training camp in Denia.
Peter can give expert advice and guidance on the bike, and I can give advice on cycling specific strength and nutrition.
But…its not just what we know, its how we deliver it. We always believe in doing something you love and when we talk cycling, you know we love it!
We arrived in the Costa Blanca, Spain, in January 2016 with the intention of finding the best location for our training camp base. We cycled to different popular locations with gateways to the mountains but found the roads from these locations not to suit our needs as they were either too hilly, busy or windy.
Then we found Denia, a stunning city in the province of Alicante. Boasting a micro-climate with short, mild sunny winters and long hot summers! The weather is so comfortable the city has a monument praising the good weather of Denia!
Anyway, we rode in all directions and found the routes to the mountains suitable for all types of riding. Easy and flat through miles of orange groves, rolling, coastal and many more. So if you’ve had a hard day, you can rest assured your recovery will be easy flat riding to one of the many friendly cafes….perfect!
We then found our hotel and base at the Daniyadenia Spa, a beautiful hotel close to the beach and town center, with stunning spa facilities, great healthy food and of course, bike storage!
If you’re a triathlete, there’s a running track near by and indoor pools to compliment the open water swimming areas, what more could you ask for?
So, location and base sorted, but what’s the twist?
In the package we offer, advice on your training, help with body strength to make you a more efficient and powerful cyclist and very importantly, nutrition and recovery. So as well as having a fantastic holiday on your bike you can walk away a stronger and a more knowledgeable rider!
Oh, you’ll also receive a free Ciclopower cycling jersey in your size on your arrival, so you’ll be cycling in a group of riders looking pro!
Groups will be split into ability so you’ll always feel comfortable, unless you want to show them what you’ve got in the mountains!
Our first camp starts in late April 2016 with others in October, January and February.

We cater for all levels of riders, so you’ll never be out your depth, just enjoying riding in the sunshine!
We also cater for large groups and corporate, single day rates to weekly, and much more. Also, if you bring your partner or family they’ll be happy to relax in the spa, outdoor pool, beach or stunning city, so you can ride your bike guilty free. Non riders also benefit from a 30% discount.
About the Authors: Ricky and Peter are business partners in bike racing events and Ciclopower cycling training camps. Peter races at Elite level in Road racing and is the current Scottish 25 mile time trial champion. He trains hard in Scotland and Spain and simply lives and breaths cycling! Ricky is a competitive cyclist and strength coach, has won both in road racing and time trials and is currently training for the masters national track championships. He also trains hard in the gym, on the track, MTB and road, both in Scotland and Spain and like Peter simply loves to ride bikes.
